This tread design isn't one you'd want for getting through six inches of gumbo mud. On the other hand, a mudder isn't what you'd want on a rain-slicked highway while trying to stop your pickup before it hits the back of a dump truck. The tread blocks of the new LTX iteration are more open and more numerous, with more lateral kerfs to let water escape out the sides. Lots more siping, too.
