Jp Dirt ‘N Drive 2016 Day One: The Adventure Begins - Video

After a successful day getting everyone ready to leave for the Inaugural Jp Dirt ‘N Drive at Sam’s Town in Las Vegas, it was time to get all the Jeeps on the road toward the first destination, Bryce Canyon, Utah. After loading up on coffee and fuel it was time for our Grand Marshal Jim Chick from Bestop to lead us to our first trail, thankfully he had a scepter or we might have missed him.

With a quick trip down the highway we reached the first trail we would wheel in Mesquite, Nevada. The trail took us from Mesquite to Colorado City, Arizona and offered a tight rocky trail with beautiful scenery as we climbed in elevation before making our way down several miles of fast switchbacks that wouldn’t be forgiving if you made a mistake. Once we got through the slower tighter trail, the next trail gave us the opportunity to see what the Jeeps could do, thanks to slow rollers on wide hard pack.

A quick bite was in order before we made our way to the next wheeling location; we loaded up on beef jerky, trail mix and nuts, and hit the back roads toward the Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park.

Once all the Jeeps made it to the dunes we aired down, and blasted around the soft, talc-like sand that makes up the picturesque Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. After having an excellent time in the sand it was time to hit the last trail that would drop us into Bryce Canyon.

We made our way down to Kanab, Utah, to a trail that was filled with steep downgrades, washed out roads with drop-offs and tight blind corners that were fantastic. After logging nearly 300 miles of mostly dirt we rolled into Bryce Canyon covered in dust and ready for an ice-cold beverage.
