Fullsize Invasion Rigs Invade Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2014Posted in Moab Experience: 2014 on April 18, 2014
What do you do when you’re bored of the same Jeep Wranglers wheeling the same trails year after year with almost no challenge through the slick rock? Well, if you’re anything like us, you want to see fullsize rigs crawl, flex and claw their way through the trail! This year, we decided we’d tag along for the 3rd annual Fullsize Invasion run in Moab for Easter Jeep Safari 2014.
The plan was simple, take a bunch of big pigs through the Gold Bar Rim trail and over the Golden Crack to show the Jeepers and buggy guys how to properly squeeze rigs of titanic proportions through narrow trail passages and tight obstacles. This year’s run featured a variety of trucks from old iron rigs to clean diesel tow rigs with fresh paint ready for Moab pinstripes.
This year’s run was a complete blast and despite having a large group of 37 rigs, all the trucks made it through the trail at a decent pace and best of all, none of our group displayed any of that silly “Jeep Wave” nonsense. All fullsize rigs are welcomed on Fullsize Invasion so if you’re tired of seeing cookie cutter Jeeps chock full of mild bolt-ons and fancy accessories dominating the slick rock trails of Moab, make sure you bring out your fullsize 4x4 to next year’s run.
