Brad Nelson bought this Jeep when he was in high school in 1986. Since then it has seen many iterations. We caught up with him as he pulled the heavily modified ’77 Jeep CJ-7 into the Escalator on Hell’s Revenge. It’s an optional route that proved too much for the CJs ultra-flexy three- and four-link coilover suspensions. Under the hood is a Howell-injected 304ci V-8 fitted with a Ford T-18 manual transmission and Advance Adapters Atlas with a 5.0:1 gearset. High-pinion Dana 60 axles stuffed with 4.88 gears and Detroit Lockers transfer power to 39-inch BFG competition Krawlers mounted to 17x9 TrailReady beadlocks.
