Trail Riding with the Nitto JK Experience crew during Easter Jeep Safari 2015Posted in Moab Experience: 2015 on April 7, 2015
Easter Jeep Safari has long been one of the largest off-road gatherings in the world and as the name suggests, Jeeps are a huge part of this event that kicks off a week before Easter and runs the entire week. It wasn’t that long ago that Jeep Wrangler TJ’s ruled the roost but ever since the introduction of the Jeep Wrangler JK, there has been no shortage of them in Moab.
This year, we were lucky enough to be invited on one of the coolest Easter Jeep Safari runs of the week, the Nitto JK Experience Series presented by Discount TIre Trail Run. The JK Experience, better known as JKX is an all Jeep Wrangler JK run that travels different parts of the country hitting some scenic trails and incredible terrain along the way.
The Nitto JK Experience trail run lead us through The Pickle Trail which is a few miles north of town near the Seven Mile Rim trail. The Pickle Trail is a short challenging trail that features a few muddy crossings, sand, rocks and plenty of opportunities for a body damage. The only obstacle that can be bypassed is Wishbone near the end. You could also scrape your top in the Pickle obstacle but the fun factor is still top notch.
Trail Boss and founder of the JKX, Mel Wade lead the group through the first obstacle which is a series of steps that require a bit of a bump to overcome but the group didn’t skip a beat and everyone made their way through the obstacle without issue.
After the group made their way through the Wishbone obstacle, we stopped in the large open sand wash for a delicious hot dog feast on the trail courtesy of Wheel Pros. There was even a raffle for a few cool gifts including a set of wheels from Wheel Pros.
Check out all the awesome trail action we saw from the Nitto JK Experience Trail Run!
