Lost Near Moab: A Different 2017 Easter Jeep Safari ExperiencePosted in Moab Experience: 2017 on April 12, 2017
Some off-roaders may never admit to getting lost, and exactly why they won’t own it doesn’t matter. The truth is that oftentimes getting lost is important to off-roaders in order to find what they are looking for, even if getting lost is only a metaphor. Why the heck are we getting all fancy worrying about getting lost, only because were trying to say that getting lost (or really taking a break from worrying about being lost and the other worries of life) can be fun and lead to an adventure. This can be relaxing and healing all at once.
Moab at Easter is all about adventure; four-wheel driven adventure, and if you’ve never been, or you are a Moab regular (or resident) you should try to get lost in your 4x4, or at least lose yourself in the fresh air, beauty, and excitement in these vast outdoors. We got a chance to get lost (although not really, because we had a skilled trail leader, and trail helpers the whole time) when we followed a group of fellow off-roaders from Skyjacker Suspension to an area near Moab we had never visited before. The location isn’t truly a secret, but we want you to find your own adventure (and, to be fair, getting there was slightly more complicated than we want to get into, or can accurately remember).
The adventure began traveling north and then taking a series of relaxing dirt roads to find a red sandstone rock oasis intermixed with impressive sand dune fields. The best part was we got to explore it all with friends and family in our 4x4s. At times the trip took on a very different feel like we may be traveling through the wild rocks and dunes of North Africa, the Australian Outback, or perhaps the deserts of Mongolia. It was a blast and quite the adventure, just right to get lost with ourselves. Don’t believe it? Check out the photo gallery below!
