The New Wrangler Grille: Did Jeep Just Put The Next Wrangler Face Out In Broad Daylight In Moab?

Jeep showed their cool concepts at the 2017 Easter Jeep Safari and we noticed two Jeeps with unusual grilles. The Quicksand and the Safari concepts both have a seven-slot grille with bent slots next to the headlights. Is this something new? Maybe a hint to future Wrangler grilles? Only time will tell.

Are the concept grilles on the Jeep Quicksand and Safari a hint to future production Wrangler grilles? We dig the return to the classic CJ-style grilles and hope to see these make it to the assembly line.
As a reference, this is the current Jeep JK grille on the Jeep Switchback concept. Very similar, but those outer slots are not bent.

Eight Slots?!

Jeep also had an eight-slot grill on display. It was on the 1993 Grand One concept, but this is actually factory and was part of the design in early Grand Cherokees denoting that the Grands came with a V-8 under the hood. Eventually, Jeep design reverted to the classic seven slots and it has become the global Jeep standard.
