Arizona's Topock Project Area Emergency Road Closure
As avid off-road enthusiasts we never like hearing about land closures, but every now and then certain maintenance needs to be done in order to ensure that our lands are kept clean and wildlife is preserved. The Bureau of Land Management's Lake Havasu Field Office will close portions of roads on public lands to motorized and mechanized vehicle use sporadically throughout 2007. The purpose of the emergency closure is to protect soils, vegetation and cultural resources that have been adversely impacted, or are at risk of being adversely impacted, by off-highway vehicle use.
Copies of this Emergency Closure Notice and map are available at the BLM Lake Havasu Field Office, 2610 Sweetwater Ave., Lake Havasu City, AZ 86406. This emergency road closure is in effect beginning August 1, 2006, and will remain in effect until the considerable adverse effects giving rise to the closure are eliminated and measures are implemented to prevent recurrence of these adverse effects. For more information, contact the BLM's Lake Havasu City Field Office at (928) 505-1200.
