Baja Racer’s New Look
Trophy Truck racer, and last year’s winner of the Baja 1000, BJ Baldwin has just released a video of his new Monster Energy Trophy Truck’s skin. Granted this isn’t a completely new truck as he has been racing with this body for quite some time already but the new Trophy Truck skin art was designed with the help of the Hoonigans as well as BJ Baldwin’s personal tattoo artist.
Honestly, we aren’t really that impressed with the new artwork. The truck looks cool but what really caught our attention was watching BJ Baldwin rip around the streets of Las Vegas, Nevada in his wild prerunner K5 Blazer. The truck itself is built like a race truck and features center mounted A-arms with huge coilover shocks and bypass shocks. The Blazer is linked in the rear and can pretty much keep pace with race trucks through most sections of desert.
If you’re wondering why the front end looks so weird, that’s because the Blazer has an updated 2003 fiberglass front end as well as bedsides that allow the massive Toyo’s to tuck all the way up into the fender wells at full bump.
We’re pretty disappointed that the Blazer wasn’t used more often during the filming or at the very least shot with more light than an elephant’s poop shoot. We’re glad that he at least isn’t afraid to whip the big Blazer around corners while smoking up the rear tires.
Check out the video that BJ Baldwin is calling his Livery Release!
