A New Fire Breathing Wrangler Joins The Jeep Lineup
Jeep has just announced that it is going to build the Wrangler Dragon Edition that it debuted at the Beijing International Automotive Exposition back in 2012 for their 2014 Wrangler lineup. Apparently the all black Wrangler with bronze dragon decals was very well received throughout the globe.
So what is so special about the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition, well, it is based on the Jeep Wrangler Sahara but is adorned with black and bronze satin gloss exterior and interior touches, and that’s pretty much it.
The 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition comes with a black body-color three-piece hard top. From there, the designers incorporated numerous Bronze Satin Gloss details found inside the front grille slats, headlamp surrounds and on the Jeep badging. The unique 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels are matte black with a Satin Bronze high-gloss outer edge.
Outside modifications include gloss-black appliques on the front and rear bumpers, and a Dark Charcoal dragon decal that starts on the hood and runs along the driver’s side of the vehicle. As always, no surprise when it comes to the fuel filler door, a Mopar fuel-filler door adds a bit of exclusivity in an otherwise run of the mill Jeep. Rounding out the exterior touches is a black spare tire cover with a mean looking dragon decal.
Creature comforts inside include a black and bronze theme with heated black Nappa leather seating surfaces with Satin Bronze Dragon Scale on the outer bolster surfaces, center console arm rest and steering wheel. Pretty classy stuff in our opinion!
The vital readouts are surrounded by high-gloss black instrument panel bezels. The door handles are much the same while Satin Bronze accent trim on the steering wheel spokes and passenger-side dashboard grab handle add more bling than Mr. T’s gold chains. A set of matching bronze bound floor mats will keep the interior nice and clean from all the mall crawling Dragon edition wheelers will likely get into while a unique dragon graphic overlay in the gauge cluster let’s all your passengers know that you mean business.
“When we introduced the Jeep Wrangler Dragon Design Concept last year, we received tremendously positive feedback,” said Mike Manley, President and CEO – Jeep Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Our loyal Jeep enthusiasts asked us to build this unique Wrangler, and we are delivering exactly what they’ve asked for. The new 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition boasts a stunning, unique, upscale design with styling cues that make it unlike any Wrangler ever seen before.”
Although most dragons live in fairytales, this new so-called eye-catching Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition will be a limited-production special edition, making it slightly more attainable than unicorn tears, will be available in Jeep showrooms across North America this fall.
