Cummins Power and a State of the Art Cockpit
Over the weekend we headed out to shoot a feature on this diesel-powered Toyota FJ-60 Land Cruiser built by JD Fabrication (www.jdfabrication.com). It features a tweaked 5.9L Cummins 12-valve inline-six belching out 720 lb-ft of torque into an NV4500 five-speed manual transmission, Advance Adapters Atlas transfer case, Dana 60 front axle and a Dana 80 rear axle. The leaf springs were ditched in favor of go-fast link-suspension. The front three-link sports a trick long-travel cantilever push-pull steering setup and 14 inches of wheel travel. In the back is a four-link with 16 inches of travel.

A 3-inch King coilover and air bump at each corner control the 37-inch BFG Brawler race tires on aluminum TrailReady beadlocks. Inside is an insanely complex hand-built aluminum dash, fully tucked-in and hidden race-style rollcage, four suspension seats, Trophy Truck-style gauge pod, two built-in iPads, a Lowrance GPS, and an ARB fridge, among other things.
