The Baja 1000 just kicked off this morning at 9:00 a.m. when Bryce Menzies roared off the start line through the streets of Ensenada before dropping into the famous Ensenada river bed. The race actually began last night at 11 p.m. for the bikes but kicked off this morning for the four-wheeled vehicles. The great thing about this is that the Trophy Trucks can go all out and haul the mail across the race course without having to worry about all the slow bikes in their way. Now we realize you're a desert racing nut like we are so we're pretty sure you are as excited about checking out the live coverage from Dirt Live as we are. Aside from being south of the border watching all the awesome race trucks come roaring through the desert at blinding speeds, this is probably the next best way to keep up with the race.
This year's race is a long loop race that winds its way all the way south to Punta Blanca before turning north and heading back up the peninsula towards Ensenada. This year's race is set to be one of the greatest ever and we're going to be following it all. Come along for the ride and enjoy the glory that is desert racing in Baja!
