2013 SEMA Drag Race – Three Way Magazine Shootout

Have you ever wondered if an off road truck could mop the floor against precision built high speed sports cars? Okay, well maybe that’s asking for a bit too much but how about at least keeping up with high powered track cars? Lucky for you, we’ve got the answer along with all of the glorious high-octane tire-shredding action for your viewing pleasure.

What we’ve got here is a three way shootout in a muscle vs. tuner vs. off-road race truck - heads up drag race!

After a week of walking around at the 2013 SEMA Show checking out all the flashy trailer queens as well as the very informative booth babes (you can check those out here:, European Car Magazine Editor Greg Emmerson, Hot Rod Magazine Staff Editor Mike Finnegan (He was once Editor-In-Chief of Off-Road Magazine before he went to the dark side) and Fred Williams of Petersen’s 4-Wheel & Off-Road showed up to the El Toro Marine Base with their weapon of choice to see who could blow the doors off the competition the fastest in a heads up drag race.

Representing the tuner side, Greg brought a 2007 Porsche 911 Turbo from BBI Autosport that might be able to blast your playlist if you lean on it hard enough. Not to be outdone, Finnegan rolled up with the meanest sounding vehicle of the group, a 1970 Harbinger Mustang built by Agent 47 that features a panty dropping 420HP Boss 302 crate engine that sounds sweeter than Moonshine body shots off SEMA booth babes. Fred showed up with Randy Slawson’s King Of The Hammers LS3 powered Ultra Four Race Buggy that won the 2013 King Of The Hammers race. The Ultra 4 buggy was built by Bomber Fabrication and can rip down the road faster than most sports cars while also being able to crawl over gnarly rocks and boulders at crazy speeds. Did we also mention it can do all that while also being able to bomb through huge whoops at high speeds?

So who do you think wins this race that is very much like a knife fight between a scalpel a machete and an axe?

Check out the video and find out who comes out on top in the first ever SEMA Drag Race!
