Dirt Every Day: Episode 25 – Texas Ranch Jeep CJ-7 Road TripPosted in News on January 30, 2014 Comment (0)
Last time on Dirt Every Day, Fred Williams of Petersen’s 4-Wheel and Off-Road headed over to the Lone Star state to purchase an old ’78 Jeep CJ-7 that was sitting in a field and after getting it to run, as best as an abandoned rig can run after years of neglect – Fred headed over to Painless performance to fix the CJ’s electrical gremlins by installing a brand new Painless Performance CJ-7 wiring harness. You can see more of that here: http://www.fourwheeler.com/news/1401-dirt-every-day-texas-ranch-jeep-cj7-rescue/
Well, no surprise the Jeep turned out great after a set of junkyard seats as well as a junkyard rear axle was installed in the little CJ. What 17 year old kid wouldn’t be thrilled to be riding around in their very-own freedom machine?
Of course Fred’s mission was to drive this resurrected Jeep all the way back to California but not before making a few small detours on his way.
On this episode of Dirt Every Day, Fred jumps in his recently rewired CJ and heads from Dallas, Texas to Las Cruces, New Mexico in search of some fun in the dirt and with any luck some good old fashioned American pies.
Check out what Fred and his faithful little CJ-7 encountered along their road trip through two states with freezing temperatures with only a bikini top as protection from the elements!
