Red Bull Frozen Rush Pro4 Race Trucks Cut Loose on Snow SlopesPosted in News on January 8, 2014 Comment (0)
Have you ever wondered what a 900-horsepower Por4 Race Truck could do on a snow slope? Neither did we, that is, until we saw this awesome video of Red Bull’s Frozen Rush Race project. Normally Pro4 Trucks find themselves racing on short courses and desert tracks but this Friday Red Bull is bringing the heat to the frozen slopes of Maine. Everyone knows snow wheeling is always a blast but when you mix a high powered desert race truck with studded tires and over 20 inches of wheel travel with an environment that is better suited for snowboarding and skiing, the results are bound to be a complete overload of gnarliness!
Red Bull Frozen Rush redefines snowsports by bringing a new head-to-head off-road race to the slopes. Eight 900-horsepower Pro4 Race Trucks will battle the wintery conditions to rip figure eights through the slopes, fly off jumps and climb snowy inclines at Maine's Sunday River resort. Eight drivers will test their skills on uncharted territory in search of a mountain champ.
A few hours from Boston, skiers and snowboarders will share the contours of Sunday River’s South Ridge with 4x4 trucks blazing the trails and dodging slalom gates. The race format will be a bracketed, single elimination with two drivers on course at a time. The United States Auto Club has sanctioned the race and will oversee the competition to ensure that Frozen Rush will be an amazing experience for both spectators and competitors alike.
You can catch all the snow rippin’ action this Friday, January 10, from 10:00am-2:00pm on Sunday River Ski Resort’s South Ridge Lodge. Best of all is you can walk-up and drool over all the action for free!
Check out the sneak peek videos of what you can expect to see if you’re lucky enough to be on the Sunday River South Ridge slopes this Friday!
