March 2014 More Throttle

What’s up? Let’s see, to set the scene, it’s like mid-November as I’m writing this, and I just got the Dirty Mo Season Finale event knocked out this past weekend. The event killed it. There were lots of sick trucks, and we even had chicks get into a twerkin contest on top of different trucks. That’s always a good thing. Ricky B definitely approves!

On a side note, I actually came out of a sort of retirement (three or four years, I can’t remember) from not competing in my own events. I put my Z71 in the burnout contest and had a sick time. It was cool to participate in my own event again while pumping up other competitors. I’m sure I’ve never seen anyone else do this, but as most of you know I also announce a lot of these events I hold—so yes, I took the microphone in the truck with me and announced while doing burnouts!

Of course, I broke the dang truck while smokin’ the tires. I think the crappy stock gov lock in the rearend of my truck’s 14-bolt finally went. We’re going to pick it up from the dragstrip and haul it back to the house tonight. I’ll pop the rear diff cover and check it out. It does, however, mean that everything I own is currently broken: the Z71, Ford Taurus, Jeep, Cummins, and my trailer. I’m not sure if you are in the same boat, but that’s part of the game, right? As the saying goes, “Build it, break it, fix it.”

Repairing these rigs is a pain but also part of the game. I don’t know where to start when I’m in my garage, I just need to knuckle down and get ’em fixed one of these days. If you have been following me on Instagram or Facebook you saw the Taurus motor blow up in Texas, which left us stranded while we were down there for a Rednecks With Paycheck event. The car is still in Texas right now. I’m not sure what to do about that one!

Anyway, I’m really stoked about last year’s National Yukon Gear & Axle Throttle King Finale. It was a tremendous success. Trucks from all over the nation showed up in big numbers for the event. All of the races were epic, and ‘m hoping we can pull off the same action this year. I can’t wait to see what 2014 brings!

I finished off the year off with a huge bang, doing it up big time at the Yukon Throttle King Finale. Follow me on Instagram (@rickybwilson) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/RickyBWilson), and don’t forget to keep supporting Mud Life at www.fourwheeler.com/mud-life-magazine.
