Now don’t be alarmed. We aren’t straying from trucks, mud, and girls, but if for some odd reason you haven’t noticed that we’ve been getting deep into the music industry then take a look at our interview with the Moonshine Bandits on page 48. Music is without a doubt one of America’s largest and most popular industries. Entertainment for some of us is just something we just can’t live without—everywhere we go it’s right there with us. Most of us now carry more music on our phones than anyone of the enviable record collections the best DJs used to lug around with them. Wait, half of you may have never even seen or held an actual LP record!
Growing up, we all had our favorite bands, songs, and idols. Meeting with and getting to know some of the artists that rock our trucks, homes, ATVs, and swamp buggies is darn exciting. Just like everyone else who loves music, we have wondered what the musicians and artists are like behind the scenes and in the real world. What we are finding from the country folk is that they are down-to-earth family people just like you and I, and they are into wheelin’ in mud and dirt—OK, so maybe they party a little harder than us on the weekends! It’s a really cool time in country music right now, as a relatively new genre of music has risen up and taken our party scene by storm. Hick hop has hit the music industry the past couple of years and is killin’ it. Artists like The LACS, Colt Ford, Lenny Cooper, The Moonshine Bandits, and many more are selling millions of albums and songs. We are getting great feedback and are hoping you are diggin’ the in-depth interviews. We have a line of bands and artists lined up for the rest of the year, so stay tuned.
It seems like only yesterday when we were raising our glasses to a happy new year. Now here we are a few months down the road and hip-deep into it! We have already hit a few events like Coyote Mud Bog, St. Lucie Mud Jam, and Dennis Anderson’s, and we have filled the rest of our time with a crap-load of feature truck and tech shoot. 2014 is shaping up to be our biggest and busiest year on record. Our list of upcoming mud events and races is long and distinguished and will take us from the southern tip of Florida all the up north to Maine. We’ll find ourselves in a number of states all the way across the good ol’ USA. We’ll be pushing farther north too. If we haven’t hit the local events in your state, shoot us an email or catch up with us on Facebook. As always, we are looking for truck, buggy, and ATV features, girls, events , readers’ rides, and letters. Don’t be shy—we aren’t.
