Our third day of our annual Four Wheeler of the Year and Pickup Truck of the Year testing started off with three flat tires on two different vehicles. No, there wasn’t anything wrong with the tires themselves, it had more to do with our spirited driving session in the sand which resulted in a bit of sand getting lodged in the bead of the tires which lead to a few flat tires the next morning.
Luckily we were able to get the tires dismounted to get the sand off the bead and were ready to tackle the next obstacle in no time at all. It did give us a chance to get a closer look at the 60mm Bilstein coilover shocks.
We quickly hit the dirt again in search of more obstacles to challenge this year’s rigs. We found a few spots that got the rigs crossed up articulating on some rocks. After flexing our way through this, we hit the road towards the mountains to find some rocky hill climbs and maybe even more snow.
The trail started off with a couple of small water crossings before heading up a steep narrow trail cut into the side of the mountain. It didn’t take long before we wound our way up to the top of the mountain at almost 10,000 feet. After a quick snowball fight, we made our way down the backside of the mountain where snow covered most of the trails.
Check out what we put this year’s Four Wheeler of the Year and Pickup Truck of the Year contender through!
