The 2015 LOORRS Short Course Racing Season Kicks Off with a BangPosted in News on March 26, 2015
The 2015 short-course season is here. The Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series held its opening rounds at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Complex Friday March 20th, 2015 and Saturday March 21st 2015. That meant 2 days of action packed racing. The races were also attended by a few NASCAR celebrities as that series was racing at nearby California Speedway in Fontana. Among the reported sightings were Danica Patrick and Tony Stewart. Round 2 saw standing room only crowds and some fans reported missing opening ceremonies as they battled a huge traffic jam to get into the parking lot.
One of the stand-outs of the weekend was Pro-Lite driver Brad Deberti. Deberti comes into the series as a rookie and has already proved he can win races. Driving Brian Deegan’s championship winning truck, Deberti came out swinging in Round 1, winning wire to wire. In Round 2 Deberti had some traffic to get through but it wasn’t long before he was out front winning the race and of course another fast lap award. Bryce Menzies also swept the weekend putting his Red Bull Pro-2 on the podium both days. Carl Renezeder proved he was back winning Round 1 in the Pro-4. Kyle Leduc came into the weekend with a brand new truck he built in the off-season. By round 2, Leduc had figured out to get it out front and take the top spot on the podium, right where he was comfortable for most of last year. In the Pro-buggy races, the Georges are proving once again to be unstoppable with their custom built Funco buggies. Garrett George was on the podium in first place during round 1. In round 2 Chad George took the top spot. Chad is the 2014 defending champion and so far it looks like cousin Garrett is going to keep up the pressure on Chad. Rounds 3 & 4 of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series will be held April 24th and 25th in Chandler, Arizona and it’s sure to be a show! Full results can be found on www.lucasoiloffroad.com
