Ford F-150 Halo Sandcat is Ready for Interplanetary ActionPosted in News on June 12, 2015
In honor of the upcoming video game "Halo 5: Guardians," Ford has unveiled a special F-150 complete with off-road modifications and a paint job that recalls the game franchise's Warthog all-terrain vehicles.
The Ford F-150 Halo Sandcat started as a Lariat SuperCrew 4x4 with an FX4 off-road package and a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine. With the help of Galpin Auto Sports, Ford added custom Fox Racing shocks, Deaver leaf springs, a Currie full floater rear axle, ADD fenders, side steps, a chase rack, 17-inch wheels, and off-road tires. The Halo Sandcat is legit enough that it has been officially designated the M552 codename by the United Nations Space Command. Ford says the truck is "so awesome, it could have been designed by the Master Chief himself."
The special-edition truck features a number of additional upgrades other than the obvious custom Halo body wrap. Inside the cabin, look for more green accents and a custom Xbox One gaming system for rear passengers. Display screens are mounted on the headrests of the front seats.
Later this month, the Ford F-150 Halo Sandcat will be on public display at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) at the Los Angeles Convention Center. "Halo 5: Guardians" will be released October 27.
