For 2016 the Chevrolet Silverado is getting an update featuring new styling, updated Chevy MyLink, expanded use of the 8-speed automatic transmission and additional safety technologies.
Chevy Trucks marketing director Sandor Piszar says “The redesigned 2016 Silverado will feature a more muscular appearance and offer new customer-focused technologies, new front end designs with bold horizontal elements, sculpted hoods and dramatic lighting that reflect the strength and refinement that have helped make Silverado the fastest growing full-size pickup brand this year.”
Piszar’s last statement is hard to argue with. Since the introduction of the latest generation of the Silverado in 2013; Silverado sales have grown by double digit percentage basis each year: and through June of this year Chevy Silverado sales are on up 14.6%.
Included with the styling changes Chevrolet has updated Chevy MyLink with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The 8-Speed automatic transmission will all be used in more Silverado trucks, but there is no word yet on what engine options it will be behind
More information on the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado update will come closer to the planned debut in the fall of 2015.
