It's not enough anymore to make pickups that are rugged and capable. Every year, automakers are stepping up their game when it comes to providing luxury-oriented models, just as Ford did with its updated 2016 F-150 Limited. The question is: Which luxury pickup truck would you choose?
Earlier this week, Ford really upped the ante on the new 2016 F-150 Limited. Three words: massaging front seats. Not only that, but the new model also offers genuine fiddleback eucalyptus trim, aluminum trim accents, Mojave leather upholstery, and Active Park Assist. Tack on some quad-beam LED headlights and heated rear seats, and that's one posh pickup.
As tempting as the F-150 Limited may be, there are plenty of other "lux" pickups on the market. Commanding $51,870, the new Ram Laramie Limited boasts many of the same features and an entirely different look. All-black full leather seats, contrast stitching, liquid graphite finishing, and cell phone and tablet holders in the center bin make a strong case for this truck. These features give the pickup a unique suit-and-tie look.
Opt for the Chevrolet Silverado High Country, and you're looking at a saddle brown interior, an 8-inch touchscreen, High Country-stitching on the headrests, and optional adjustable pedals and a driver alert package. Of course, you can upgrade further and go for the Sierra Denali with its more aggressive styling and added interior refinement.
There are also some untraditional choices like the Toyota Tundra Platinum, which is a more "affordable" option in the bunch starting at just around $46,000. This model packs many of the same amenities like heated and ventilated front seats, 10-way power driver seat, and a sunroof. Also look for a diamond-patterned leather interior trim and standard V-8 power. Meanwhile, the similarly-priced Tundra 1794 Edition adds a lot of personality. Look for bold silver accents on the body and special seats with saddle brown leather and suede inserts.
