Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) is recalling 158,671 Jeep Cherokee SUVs in the U.S. to address an issue with the static buildup from control modules that could lead to windshield wiper failure.
An investigation by FCA found that failure could happen when the wipers are used in dry conditions allowing for static build up to occur and affecting the control module. To remedy this issue, dealers will install a ground strap to eliminate static buildup and protect the control module.
Customers will be advised upon their next scheduled service about the recall, and it will be remedied at no cost. For more questions or concerns contact the FCA US Customer Information Center at 1-800-853-1403.
