Pope Tours the U.S. in a Modified 2-Door Jeep WranglerPosted in News on September 23, 2015
Pope Francis has landed in the United States on his historic tour, meeting with President Obama today, and addressing Congress on Thursday before heading to New York and then finishing his tour in Philadelphia.
While his trip is important, we’re more concerned with what he will be cruising the streets with. We’ve known for quite some time the Pope-mobile that will be used is a modified 2-door Jeep Wrangler, and we finally got a chance to see it in action.
The all white JK features a custom canopy with open sides and glass on the front and top offering some protection while still allowing the Pope to greet the masses without feeling like he’s in a cage.
Details on modifications to the Jeep’s drivetrain and suspension haven’t been released but we assume it’s stock. He may not take it off-road while he's Stateside, but it’s still pretty awesome to see the Pope driving around in a Jeep Wrangler!
