The long awaited completion of the Famous Petersen Automotive Museum is almost here with a scheduled grand reopening date of December 5, 2015. After 13-months and $125 million investment the new Petersen museum will still feature some of the worlds most valuable and significant cars with new immersive technology, including the Forza Experience and Pixar Cars Mechanical Institute. The Museum will have 95,000 feet of exhibit space covering three themed floors displaying the history, industry and art of the automobile.

The famous Petersen basement vault is set to re-open for tours in January of 2016 where non-display vehicles are stored, including Mr. Petersen’s Jeep CJ-6 that was used on his ranch. Between the automotive history in the exhibit space, the vault and the iconic building its self, there is plenty of history and awesome stuff to see. “We believe the New Petersen is one of the top automotive experiences in the world.” Said Petersen Automotive Museum Executive Director Terry L. Karges. While we haven’t seen the new layout, if you’re an automotive fan or a fan of history the Petersen Museum is a must visit location.

The schedule for the grand re-opening is as follows:
