With all the buzz swirling around the automotive world about the immensely powerful 707hp Hellcat engine, it was inevitable that someone would plant one in a Jeep. Well, we saw the first running example of that reality yesterday. And the sound of that monster V-8 screaming in the engine bay of a customized Jeep JK Wrangler made the hair on the back of our necks stand up. We can hardly wait to drive it. That will happen soon, but for now we were allowed to get a look at the vehicle during its build up for the 2015 SEMA Show.

This view under the front end of the Hellhog reveals the nearly stock front axle. Some basic suspension mods have been made to handle the extra weight of the Hellcat engine, but for the most part the Jeep JK Wrangler’s front suspension is as it rolled off the assembly line. You can also see the custom Borla exhaust system used on the Hellhog.

It’s called the Hellhog and is being built by Wild Boar Off-Road with the help of Dakota Customs. Wild Boar has a reputation for creating award-winning accessory products for Jeeps (winning no less than three SEMA awards for its products over the last handful of years), as well as building some awesome custom rigs such as the stretched Jeep JK Wrangler 6x6 the 707hp Hellcat engine is in currently. Dakota Customs is the place to go for V-8 Hemi engine swaps into Jeeps.

The two companies formed an ideal partnership in the Hellhog build. Some interior, body, and paint work still needed to be completed when we saw the rig, but when all wrapped up, the Hellhog will be on display in the Wild Boar Off-Road booth at the 2015 SEMA, and you’ll see the full feature right here in the pages of Jp Magazine. Stay tuned for more on Hellhog, the 707hp 6x6 Jeep JK Wrangler. For now, we have a few photos and some video to share with you from that peek under the cover.

Out back, there’s been a bit more work done to the Hellhog. The frame was stretched to accommodate the third axle when turning the Jeep JK Wrangler 4x4 into a 6x6, and that’s no lame-duck tag axle. It’s a pass-through axle that’s powered, making this a true six-wheel-drive Jeep.
This is what 707hp looks like stuffed into the engine bay of a Jeep JK Wrangler. Wild Boar Off-Road worked with Dakota Customs to get the Hellcat engine installed and howling perfectly in the custom 6x6 JK called Hellhog.
