This 1980 Jeep CJ-7 Runs an 8-Second Quarter Mile & Wheelies - VideoPosted in News on January 7, 2016
We love seeing Jeeps on the trail, but sometimes it’s almost cool when you see them flying down the drag strip, and Greg “Z” Zoetmulder does just that with his 1980 Jeep CJ-7.
This beautifully built CJ-7 features an AES-built 408ci V-8 engine with an air-to-air Procharger, CSU billet carburetor, and a ton of other performance goodies. All that power goes through a DRC transmission and a 10-inch Strange rear axle before breaking loose the 28x12.5-inch Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials.
This badass Jeep isn’t just show; it goes fast. The guys at Victory Red Colorado were able to catch this CJ-7 in action at the 21st annual World Power Wheelstanding Event at Byron’s Dragway running a 8.64-second quarter mile at 154.44 mph while doing a wheel stand on every run.
Check out this beautiful and powerful Jeep in action as it makes several passes on the drag strip.
