Video: Jeep Wrangler and Drone Pwn Blizzard 2016

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, or so the saying goes. In the case of independent filmmaker Casey Neistat, the historic East Coast blizzard of 2016 was his proverbial lemon. However, with the help of a Jeep Wrangler, a camera drone, and the New York Police Department, Neistat was able to transform the lemon of a storm into YouTube gold. Although the Wrangler is an undeniably capable 4x4, even Jeep’s finest needed tire chains to traverse the snow-caked streets of the Big Apple.

Armed with the chained-up Jeep, a video camera, a drone, and the tacit blessing of the boys in blue, Neistat and his crew hit the chilly streets with snowboarders and skiers in tow, making for some pretty epic footage, as well as a few close calls with cabs, pedestrians, or anyone else unfortunate enough to be caught out in the snow. We’ve included below both the behind-the-scenes footage leading up to the finished video, as well as the final masterpiece. Comfortably situated in our Southern California offices with a comparably balmy 65 degrees outdoors, we’re glad we’re not on the East Coast right now, but if we were, we’d want to be in a Wrangler.
