The 2016 Mint 400 hundred is nearly here. We can hardly wait for this year’s great American off-road race and now that the legendary Rod Hall is going to be this years Grand Marshal we can hardly contain our excitement.

Rod Hall had an exceptional off-road racing career, with more than 160 major event wins that make him one of the most successful off-road racers ever. Racing in Baja for 47 straight years and winning 35 consecutive races in the 1980’s Hall with his trusty Ford Bronco cemented his legacy in the off-road community.

As the Grand Marshal for this year’s Mint 400, he will lead the 4th-annual parade of vehicles in his freshly restored 1969 Ford Bronco down the Las Vegas Strip. In addition to leading the parade, Hall will be waving the green flag to start The Great American Off-Road Race.

Hall couldn’t be happier to be involved in this year’s race saying, “I have lot of history with this race in particular. It’s sort of a love-hate relationship, but it's a very special race to me. I love the fact that it has roared back to the way is was in the ’80s. We had a lot of fun here in Las Vegas. I still want to be behind the wheel of a race car, but I am happy to share my love of off-road racing as grand marshal!”

Even though he’s not competing, we’re glad to see Hall still actively involved in off-road racing and can’t wait to watch him lead more than 300 race vehicles down the Vegas strip in his badass championship Bronco!
