Two Jeep Commercials Celebrate and Honor 75 Years of JeepPosted in News on February 18, 2016
2016 is the 75th anniversary of the Iconic Jeep, and the team at Jeep plans on celebrating all year. They started with a bang showing not one, but two, commercials during Super Bowl 50: one called “Portraits” that shows who really makes Jeep, and another titled “4x4ever” that shows what it means to live the 4x4 Jeep life.
The “Portraits” commercial pays homage to the past, people, and moments that have shaped the history of Jeep, with the tag line “we don’t make Jeep, you do.” From the soldiers who drove the first Jeeps during WWII to off-road adventurers of yesterday and tomorrow, they all have a part in the storied history of Jeep beginning in 1941.
With 60 perfectly selected images that showcase Jeep vehicles around the world -- with famous icons including, Steve McQueen, Marilyn Monroe, BB King, Amelia Earhart, Bobby Jones, and famous pop culture references from Jurassic Park and the Terminator -- “Portraits” shows the true spirit and human side of the Jeep brand.
After paying respect to Jeep’s past in the “Portraits” spot, the “4x4ever” commercial is a battle cry that brings the Jeep community together. The spot presents the idea that the 4x4 capability of the Jeep goes beyond running the Rubicon trail or tackling the slick rock in Moab, it’s about living life without boundaries.
With these two commercials a great start to the 75th anniversary of Jeep, we know there’s going to be more cool Jeeps, history lessons, and events from Jeep throughout 2016.
