VIDEO: Watch These Massive Cat Machines Play Gigantic Game of JengaPosted in News on February 26, 2016
One of the most famous names in construction equipment is showing its playful side in a new YouTube video. The video, which features five Cat machines playing a gigantic game of Jenga, is part of a series from 2014.
“Stack” shows the machines moving 27 massive blocks, each weighing 600 pounds. The total stack pushes more than eight tons of gravity onto the earth, reaching 14 total layers before crashing to the ground with enough force to rattle just about every surface in the arena.
Cat operators played the game using only their machines and attachments, with a spotter on the ground guiding their every move. It’s impressive to see how delicately these guys are able to move the blocks, and the video is a testament to the operators’ skills as much as anything. We’d like to see them take part in some Cat-style gymkhana. Maybe that ought to be the company’s next video.
Other YouTube entries in the series include a massive sandcastle-building contest, a tug of war, and a giant set of dominoes. Reminding us of the games we used to play in the sandbox, they’re all entertaining and short enough for even our goldfish-like attention spans.
