With the 50th annual Easter Jeep Safari right around the corner in Moab, and after checking out the badass Jeep concepts last week, you are probably ready to upgrade your Wrangler so you can tackle the red rocks in Utah.

If you’re not ready to go all out and cut your Jeep up for aftermarket suspension and body modifications just yet, we understand and so does Jeep. The guys at Jeep and Mopar have come up with a solution to that dilemma: offer authentic Jeep parts that allow enthusiasts to upgrade their Wranglers performance with OE quality parts.

We’ve compiled a list of five must have upgrades from Jeep to improve the performance, handling, and looks of your Wrangler.

Suspension System – 4 Lift Kit

One of the first things nearly every Jeep owner does is install a suspension lift to increase clearance for larger tires and more flex on the trail. Jeep offers a complete suspension system to clear 35-inch tires,(37s if you use the high-top fender kit), while improving ride quality and handling. Thanks to tuned coil springs, Fox shocks, control arms, and sway bar relocation brackets, the increased height doesn’t affect the engineered stock suspension geometry. To compensate for the vehicles higher elevation, a 1310 Double Cardan front driveshaft is included.

DOT Beadlock

The most common upgrade for nearly every vehicle is wheels and tires, and Jeeps are at the top of that list. Jeep knows that and has several variations of wheels they offer, but they recently came out with a DOT-approved beadlock wheel that any wheeler knows the importance of. This 17x8.5-inch Rock Monster two-piece beadlock wheel offers the ability to mount a tire traditionally, as well as like a traditional beadlock. This wheel isn’t just functional, it’s attractive too.

Off-Road Bumper

To improve approach angles, mount a winch, and protect sensitive frontend components, a strong off-road bumper is a necessity. The bumper offered by Mopar will give your Wrangler great front clearance and offer provisions to mount a winch, off-road lights, and a skidplate. You can improve the appearance of your Jeep, as well as increase its off-road prowess.

Off-Road Lighting

Wheeling at night can be some of the most fun and challenging off-roading you can do. It’s impossible to wheel without light when the sun goes down, and the guys at Mopar have that covered too. The off-road light package the offer mounts cleanly to the A-pillar or roof basket and provides and ultra-bright spot pattern thanks to four LEDs in each light.

Tailgate Mounted Spare Tire Carrier

Now that you’ve lifted your Jeep and put bigger tires on it, a fullsize spare is a must if you plan hitting a lengthy trail. The team at Mopar has thought of nearly everything and offers a large cast aluminum reinforced tailgate that replace the stock hinges giving you a solid point to mount your new larger spare. This will reduce stress on rear tailgate, giving you peace of mind that your spare won’t come off when you don’t want it too.
