Enter Your Epic Motorsport Videos in the 2016 Optima Ultimate Film Festival - VideoPosted in News on April 12, 2016
With a popular and successful first run in 2015, the Optima Ultimate Film Festival is back for 2016. The Optima Ultimate Film Festival gives motorsports enthusiasts from across the country the opportunity to have their unique film that showcases the automotive enthusiast lifestyle featured on MAVTV.
Optima Batteries Director of Marketing Cam Douglass says, “Performance enthusiasts across the country are creatively pushing the limit, all while their cameras are rolling, and we’re excited to be a catalyst for people to come and experience these incredible films.” He’s right, whether it’s a video of you catching a trophy truck blasting through the dirt, a Jeep floating along a water crossing, or just taking the family wheeling, we’ve seen your videos on social media—now is your chance to get them on the big screen.
The Optima Ultimate Film Festival looks for unique and exhilarating films to put in two categories: short film and action cam. Short film entries are less than seven minutes long and follow a story or documentary-style film layout while focusing on the enthusiast lifestyle, performance vehicles, and the aftermarket parts that fuel the enthusiast passion. Action cam films must be two minutes or less, show a performance rig in action, and be shot exclusively on POV cameras.
For 2016, the schedule has been expanded and will feature three entry periods to submit films for judging as well as live screenings at each event.
-April 8—May 20 entry period for the first regional event on June 17 at Formula Drift in New Jersey
-May 21—July 22 entry period for the second regional event in August at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit
-July 23—September 20 entry period for the finale event on November 2 during the SEMA Show
Films submitted during each entry period will be selected for the regional and finale events by a set of industry-leading expert judges, which include:
-Ryan Tuerck, Formula Drift
-David Freiburger, Roadkill
-Fred Williams, Dirt Every Day/Four Wheeler Magazine
-Matt Farah, The Smoking Tire/Drive Network
The finale at the 2016 SEMA Show in Las Vegas will be hosted by David Freiburger, and attendees can vote for their favorite films. The winning films will be included in a one-hour special on MAVTV.
Now’s your chance to have your creative film showing your individual experience in the performance world seen by other like-minded people and potentially appear on MAVTV, so get out and get to filming. For more information and all the contest rules check out optimafilmfest.com.
