This Lego Mercedes Unimog Wheels Like A Boss - Video

There’s little more we enjoy than hitting the trail for some challenging and fun wheeling, but sometimes funds to finish/fix our rig are non-existent or we just can’t seem to find the time. That’s where this badass remote-controlled Mercedes Benz Unimog built with Legos comes in handy -- a few steps to the backyard or the local park and we can do a little miniature wheeling, which is almost as fun.

This Unimog trail truck, built with Lego Technic pieces, belongs to the YouTuber PunkTacoNYC and has everything you’d want in a trail rig without the breaking the bank. This Unimog features full-time four-wheel drive (thanks to the locked axles), a large electric motor to keep this miniature beast moving, and portal axle construction just like the fullsize version.

Suspension is soft and supple thanks to 6.5L shock absorbers that allow the large mud-terrain–type tires to flex over boulders with ease. If the wheeling gets a little to wild this Unimog also has an electric winch on-board for self recoveries, you know for when you don’t want to pick it up and move it with your hands.

The best part of this Unimog, besides the Lego man in a hot dog suit driving it, is the fact that if you flip, roll it, or some how break it while wheeling, it can easily be recovered and repaired.

Check out this red Unimog in action, and if it doesn’t make you want to go home and play with some Legos, we don’t know what to tell you.
