Barlow/Jacobsen Team Will Race A 2016 Ram Rebel in Inaugural Rebelle RallyPosted in News on June 30, 2016
The inaugural Rebelle Rally, an all-women off-road racing event that tests driving ability and navigational skills, is almost here and the race team of Nena Barlow and Kande Jacobsen will be competing in a 2016 Ram Rebel. Barlow and Jacobsen will make their way from Lake Tahoe, Nevada, to San Diego, California, through the harsh mountain and desert terrain in Ram’s latest off-road offering with only a map and a compass.
The Rebel Barlow and Jacobsen will be driving is 100 percent stock and will be tested as they try to win the rally. With 20 yeas of off-road experience, Barlow will be piloting the Ram for seven days and more than 1,000 miles with outdoor expert Jacobsen navigating. Since both women bring strong driving and navigating skills, they can easily swap if necessary.
The Rebel is a very capable truck straight from the factory. It won our Four Wheeler Pickup of the Year test and impressed us thoroughly, and even Barlow is impressed with it saying, “It might be expected that I would show up in one of my modified 4x4s, but I want to encourage people to get out and explore with whatever they have, I will be driving a totally stock Ram 1500, just like anyone can go out and buy today, not some expensive custom competition rig. The Ram Rebel comes ready to go.” With confidence like that, you can bet this team will be exciting to see in this year’s rally.
