The popularity of side-by-sides for off-road play is at an all time high, and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon, and with the two new 2017 side-by-side (SxS) models Can-Am has added it’s easy to see why. The 2017 Can-Am side-by-side lineup has something for every off-road activity, budget, and family size. Thanks to the new four-person Maverick MAX mr 1000R and the Maverick xc 1000R, getting into an off-road–ready SxS has never been easier.

A family of more than two people can be hard to fit in a SxS with only two seats. That’s where the all-new Maverick MAX mr 1000R comes in handy. With four seats, a family of four can enjoy blasting down the trail or through the mud without having to take turns going for rides. Since it’s based on the impressive Maverick lineup, performance in the most demanding off-road settings isn’t an issue.

With a 101hp Rotax V-twin engine hauling the family won’t be an issue for this beast, and thanks to new Fox 2.3-inch Podium Piggyback shocks, slowing down for big obstacles isn’t necessary. A quick-response system CVT allows for better power transfer and faster engagement time while reducing belt wear, for even more off-road fun with less downtime.

New 14-inch wheels and color options add a unique look to this SxS that’s ready to take the family on- and off-road adventure through whatever you can think of.

If you’ve wanted a side-by-side but the price point has been just out of your reach, the new Maverick xc 1000R is an affordable SxS that doesn’t sacrifice performance. This model starts at $15,699. With the entry-level customer in mind, Can-Am built a side-by-side that removed some of the bells and whistles from the higher-end models but didn’t remove any performance.

This 60-inch SxS is powered by a 101hp Rotax V-Twin engine making in the most powerful compact SxS available. The suspension features Fox 2.0 Podium shocks on all four corners and double a-arm front setup for excellent handling and travel in all types of terrain. The rear suspension is a Torsional Trailing A-Arm setup that is lightweight, strong and compact. A front sway bar is also included on the xc for reduced body roll and a flatter handling experience.

12-inch wheels wrapped with 27-inch Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires provide excellent traction even the sloppiest terrain. The Maverick xc comes in one awesome color: yellow.
