Ford Adds Vinyl Flooring Option to 2017 Super Duty Platinum, King Ranch TrimsPosted in News on June 13, 2016
With fullsize trucks selling for more than $50,000 and fully equipped HD diesel trucks for more than $70,000, it makes one wonder sometimes if the truck makers have lost touch with what makes trucks, well, trucks. No matter how much hand-stitched leather trim, electronic connectivity, apps, and other high-falutin’ accoutrements are added, trucks are fundamentally built for work. And as anyone knows that uses their trucks for their intended purpose, work can be a dirty job sometimes. To that end, Ford is offering its full line of 2017 Super Duty trucks, from the bare-bones XL all the way up to the top-of-the-line King Ranch and Platinum trims, with a vinyl flooring option.
Befitting trucks with a $70,000-plus price tag, the vinyl flooring option on the King Ranch and Platinum trims is thicker and a higher grade than that offered in the XL and XLT trims. Not all customers will probably want vinyl flooring on their high-dollar rigs. However, for some customers, this is probably the ideal configuration: the ultimate in comfort and luxury for going out for a night on the town but not having to worry about muddy boots when visiting job sites or going to the far reaches of the ranch or farm. What do you think? Is this a genius option combo or complete nonsense? We’re leaning toward the former.
