AEV Prospector XL -- A Cummins Ram Power Wagon by Another NamePosted in News on September 8, 2016
Ever since the Power Wagon name was revived in 2005, the chorus has been constant and persistent: “When can we get it with the Cummins?” Well, if you’re looking for a full-fledged factory effort, don’t hold your breath. However, if you’re willing to embrace a little broader interpretation of a diesel off-road HD truck, American Expedition Vehicles has just the truck for you. The company, best-known for its mechanical and appearance packages for Jeep Wranglers, now offers a full selection of parts for Ram trucks. The latest showcase for the company’s wares is the Prospector XL.
One glance and it’s clear this is no ordinary Ram with a simple lift kit. The Prospector XL features the company’s HighMark fenders, giving a much larger wheel opening that can accommodate massive 40-inch tires with just a 3-inch lift. This combination allows for confident on-road ride and handling while providing generous ground clearance for off-roading. To help pilot the massive rolling stock, the Prospector XL features a hydraulic assist steering system. Giving the truck an appropriately aggressive look are AEV’s signature heavy duty stamped steel front bumper.
Total package price for the Prospector XL package is $17,354, which includes front and rear steel bumpers, an AEV heat reduction hood, front and rear fender flares, fog lights, AEV DualSport suspension, AEV “Katla” wheels, 40-inch Toyo Open Country M/T tires, hydraulic steering assist, black grille and fender flares, and AEV badging.
Optional features include an LED lightbar, a raised ram air snorkel intake, Warn 16.5ti winch, leather seating surfaces, side steps, bed-mount spare tire, differential upgrade, and tonneau cover. AEV vehicles are available through a network of participating Ram and independent off-road accessory dealers nationwide. You can find a dealer near you by visiting aev-conversions.com/dealers.
