The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor has created quite a buzz among truck enthusiasts, the highly anticipated successor to Dearborn’s off-road flagship. However, for some customers, even Ford’s best isn’t enough. For those that want to go over the top, Hennessey Performance will offer a 6x6 conversion for the new Raptor, dubbed the VelociRaptor 6x6. The truck will offer locking rear axles, an upgraded Fox suspension, custom front and rear bumpers, and a power bump bringing the 3.5L EcoBoost up to a claimed 600-plus horsepower.
Expect to pay quite a bit more than the estimated $52,505 starting price for a 2017 Raptor SuperCrew. Like more than five times as much. Hennessey is quoting a starting price of $295,000 for the VelociRaptor 6x6, more than the cost of an average home in most parts of the country. However, if you want the hot rod EcoBoost without the six wheels, the engine upgrades are available separately for $22,500.
The VelociRaptor 6x6, or the standard 2017 VelociRaptor with the engine upgrades, can be ordered through Hennessey directly or through participating Ford dealers that are authorized Hennessey distributors. If the price for the VelociRaptor 6x6 seems steep, it pales in comparison to the approximately $633,000 for the Mercedes-AMG G63 6x6, which isn’t even officially sold in the U.S.
