Video: Currie Enterprises Creates Diff-erent Trophy for Shannon CampbellPosted in News on February 28, 2017
Off-road star Shannon Campbell just won his third King of The Hammers race. Currie Enterprises, the well-known maker of drivetrain, axle and differential components for the off-road community, has also been a long-time sponsor of Campbell. To show their appreciation, the crew at Currie decided to build a unique commemorative trophy for the three-time champion. Starting with a Ford 9-inch differential housing, the team smoothed, sanded, powdercoated, and customized the cover and drove it out to Campbell Enterprises in Gilbert, Arizona, to personally present Campbell with the commemorative piece.
Currie Enterprises co-owner John Currie presented Campbell with the cover and joked, “It’s heavy, like everything else we do.” The cover has the dates of Campbell’s KOH victories, 2008, 2011 and 2017, and Campbell’s named flanked by “3x KOH” and “Champion” on either side. Campbell expressed his gratitude by telling Currie, “This is the coolest trophy I’ve ever gotten.” The powdercoating was done by Full Throttle Powdercoating in Corona, California, and the pinstriping by Dave Zatezalo.
