Jaguar Land Rover Announces $20 Month Unlimited Data PlanPosted in News on March 23, 2017
Following in the footsteps of General Motors’ announcement of unlimited OnStar 4G LTE data on models equipped with an on-board 4G LTE hotspot, Jaguar Land Rover is likewise following suit with an unlimited data plan for its vehicles equipped with its InControl Wi-Fi system for $20 a month. Like the OnStar plan, data services are provided by AT&T, with coverage across most of the continental United States and parts of Alaska and Hawaii.
Depending on the model, InControl is standard or optional on most Jaguar or Land Rover models, including the Discovery, Discovery Sport, Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Range Rover Evoque, and the upcoming Range Rover Velar. The system can support as many as eight devices simultaneously and provides data for Internet connectivity, media streaming, and more where service is available.
InControl is Jaguar Land Rover’s proprietary app and media platform, offering integrated support for such popular apps as Tile, the Bluetooth-enabled item locator, music streaming service Spotify, Cityseeker, Hotelseeker, Audiobooks, Rdio, Parkopedia, offline GPS service Sygic, location sharing service Glympse, Stitcher streaming radio, Mileage Tracker Pro, and more. The InControl system also allows integration with the owner’s mobile device, allowing for remove vehicle unlocking, locking, service, and maintenance alerts, as well as stolen vehicle recovery.
