Polaris RZR Star Car Makes Valiant Effort at Mint 400, Falls ShortPosted in News on March 7, 2017
Performance side-by-sides are all the rage, with the Polaris RZR leading the charge. To highlight the company’s motorsports efforts, Polaris entered a RZR “Star Car” in the 2017 Mint 400 race, with a celebrity race team comprised of Tanner Foust, Jolene Von Vugt, and desert racing radio personality Jim Beaver. The trio were among a field of more than 100 entrants in the UTV class.
Beaver led off the driving duties and then Foust took over. The trio rotated driving duties until Von Vugt took over on the final lap. Unfortunately, the vehicle crashed, damaging the suspension, and slowing progress down considerably. The team tried to limp along the RZR to the finish but had to give up when it became apparent that finishing the race wasn’t in the cards.
However, this isn’t the end of the road for the “Star Car.” The RZR will make an appearance at the upcoming Polaris RZR UTV World Championship in Laughlin, Nevada, April 13-15 and at the General Tire Vegas to Reno August 18-19. Each race will feature a different team of celebrity drivers. You can follow the RZR Star Car on Twitter at @PolarisRZR, and with the hashtags #RZRStarCar and #RZRLife.
