Once again, it’s our pleasure to highlight an American shop that puts Americans to work building things by hand in America. Inspired by the mikeroweWorks Foundation’s Profoundly Disconnected Campaign (profoundlydisconnected.com), which strives to counter the belief that the only path to success in this country is through a four-year college degree, this time we’re doubling down on the ‘Merica. Not only is IH Parts America, Inc an all-American company putting Americans to work, but the focus of their business revolves around arguably one of the most all-American brands around: International Harvester. Farmers rode IH tractors in the field and then hopped in their IH pickups or SUVs for the ride into town. President and owner, Jeff Ismail, has been doing the IH thing full-time now for over 13 years from his home, tucked just a stone’s throw from the famous Rubicon Trail in California. Jeff is a down-to-earth car and truck nut and he and his staff know these vehicles inside and out. If you’ve got an IH vehicle that needs restoring or you just need to get your hands on some hard-to-find replacement parts or great-quality specialty parts for these classics, IH Parts America, Inc should be one of the first places you visit.
