Ram Shows Off Laramie Longhorn Southfork and Lone Star Silver EditionPosted in News on September 27, 2017
Ram will offer its 2018 pickup lineup with two new options, the Laramie Longhorn Southfork and the Heavy Duty Lone Star Silver Edition, debuting today at the State Fair of Texas.
The Laramie Longhorn Southfork starts, as its name suggests, with the equipment of the Laramie Longhorn. The Southfork adds a new interior colorway, Canyon Brown and Light Frost Beige Natura Plus leather seats, with leather-wrapped grab handles and a genuine walnut steering wheel rim. A suede headliner and sun visors give the Southfork a rich-feeling interior reminiscent of the Limited Tungsten Edition.
Outside, the Southfork gets a stretched Longhorn badge across the tailgate, available in all current Laramie Longhorn color combinations. The specially equipped truck will be available on the Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 crew cabs in 4x2 or 4x4 configurations. Prices start at $51,220 for the 1500 or $55,620 for the 2500, plus $1,395 destination.
The Heavy Duty version of the Lone Star Silver Edition joins the already popular 1500 as a Texas-only offering. Mirroring the equipment of the 1/2-ton Ram, the 2500 and 3500 Lone Star Silver Edition trucks get a new grille with silver mesh inserts, chrome accents for the exterior mirrors and wheel-to-wheel side steps, polished 20-inch wheels, and bright-finish front tow hooks and window moldings. Clearly, bright exterior accents are the name of the game with the Lone Star Silver, and a special grille-mounted badge identifies the truck as a Texas special.
The Lone Star Silver Edition is only available on crew cab models, with the buyer’s choice of 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrains; 5.7L or 6.4L Hemi V-8 or 6.7L Cummins turbodiesel I-6 engines; and Ram 2500 or 3500 capability levels. The Lone Star Silver starts at $44,735, plus $1,395 destination.
Ram will put both the Lone Star and the Southfork into production by the end of September, with dealer sales beginning soon thereafter.
