Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) is responsible for a good many interesting things, such as the Range Rover SVAutobiography, Land Rover Discovery SVX, and Jaguar F-Type SVR supersports car. In a stable that includes such superlative machines, how does this conventional-looking Discovery stand out? Aside from its celebrity ownership, it’s actually a bonkers mobile kitchen, incorporating a prep surface, herb garden, slow cooker, and even butter churners within its luxury-SUV base.

Built by SVO for celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, the Discovery kitchen on wheels will make its debut at Smorgasburg LA on Sunday, November 26. Serving one of Jamie’s recipes, a delicious turkey banh mi sandwich, the Disco will join tons of other food vendors at the outdoor market. Proceeds from the sales of the turkey banh mi will go to Food Forward, an LA nonprofit that recovers surplus produce to serve to the needy.

Helping Jamie serve up his healthy recipes, the Discovery features a long list of gourmet features. A 5-quart slow cooker takes up residence next to the engine under the hood. A fresh herb garden resides in the space vacated by the right rear quarter window, while the left rear quarter glass hides a spice rack. A slide-out kitchen workstation deploys from the cargo bay, incorporating two gas burners and a sink. Integrated into three wheel hubs are 5-quart butter churners, while the fourth wheel hub gets an ice cream maker. A toaster in the center console, a rotisserie that deploys from behind the front Land Rover badge, and a flat-panel TV found in the rear all help turn this machine into a true celebrity kitchen.

While it might not be as fast, luxurious, or off-road–ready as its SVO siblings, Jamie’s Discovery is nevertheless distinctive and unusual. It’ll be shown at Smorgasburg LA for one day only, November 26, with a cooking demonstration from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm. Those tasty-sounding sandwiches, however, will be available all day.
