Hammertown opens in Johnson Valley this Friday, February 2, for the 12th annual King of the Hammers race week extravaganza. KOH is without a doubt the most exciting off-road race in the United States. It’s the largest in all of North America, both in spectators and competitors. Six total races including Moto and UTV occur throughout the week, with King of the Hammers, the original KOH race, taking place on Friday, February 9.
The race started 12 years ago with 12 teams, and the prize was a case of beer and the right to call yourself the king. Now more than 300 teams compete in front of 35,000 live spectators and nearly half a million online. Five classes of 4x4 will be competing over the course of the week; 4400, 4500, 4600, 4800, and the 4700 spec class that consists of six identical KOH rentals that do not have to qualify to race in the Everyman Challenge. Additionally, several Motocross and UTV races take place throughout the week. To see a 2018 KOH schedule click here.
