Textron Off Road Wildcat XX Side by Side: Ride Over EverythingPosted in News on February 26, 2018
Textron is introducing the Wildcat XX for the Spring of 2018. The machine features a new 998cc naturally aspirated three-cylinder EFI engine that puts 125 horses to the dirt. At rockcrawling speed, the Wildcat XX can be shifted into low range and 4WD lock to ensure maximum traction, even when one wheel reaches for the sky or finds deep sand.
With 18 inches of suspension in the front and rear, Textron was focused on the “ride over everything.” Textron teamed up with racing legend Robby Gordon to make sure the Wildcat XX was as close to race-ready as it could be when it rolls off the showroom floor. The unequal-length front A-arms adjust tire camber throughout the cycling of the suspension to keep the tires in contact with the ground while the rear trailing arm allows the rear to travel virtually straight up and down. Paired with Fox 2.5 Podium QS3 shocks, this system reduces changes in track width by 40 percent in the front and 80 percent in the rear.
We got a chance to test the Wildcat XX in the desert before the official release and it is safe to say that Textron Off Road built one impressive machine. We’ll have a full in-depth report from our time in the desert to come (stay tuned!), but for now, enjoy the pics and video we shot during testing!
