OK, you’re in Moab, Utah, for the 2018 Easter Jeep Safari. Your schedule is full of legendary trails. You need to add the AreaBFE off-road park to your list of must-do’s.

We spent the vast majority of our second day here in Moab wandering the park and it was awesome. The park was a buzz of activity as folks were wheeling the trails and the park staff was in go-fast mode getting ready for all the special things on tap this week. Of note, on Thursday, March 29, the park opens to the public at 8 a.m. and the fun continues into the night beginning at 6 p.m. with “Area BFE Under The Lights.” In addition, there’s a night Easter egg hunt for kids 10 and under beginning at 7:30. There are some private events during the week so make sure you check the AreaBFE website (areabfe.com) before you arrive.

AreaBFE is home to some of the more challenging trails in Moab—Helldorado is shown here.

In case you’re not familiar with AreaBFE off-road park it’s a few miles south of Moab and includes 320 acres that is a playground for 4x4s. The park, which is free to the public (donations are gladly accepted), has been around since 2004 and has a great trail system. One thing you may not know is that it has trails for 4x4s of all modification levels. It also has some gnarly trails for rock junkies. Quite simply, it has something for everyone.

Not all the trails are extreme, there is a path for every level of modification.
Every trail has the beautifu backdrop of the La Sal mountains.
