This year marks the 13th anniversary of the Outstanding Trails Program. Since 2006, when BFGoodrich Tires introduced the Outstanding Trails Program, they have awarded $180,000 to 48 trails in the United States and Canada, across 19 states and two Canadian provinces. This year the program awarded $5,000 grants to four trails nominated from off-road clubs in the United States and Canada.

Nominate your favorite trail:

The nomination period runs March 30 to Aug. 1. Each winning grant will receive $5,000, with $4,000 awarded by BFGoodrich Tires and $1,000 awarded by Jeep Jamboree USA. Off-road clubs can submit grant applications online at this website. The four winning trails will be announced at the 2018 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas later this year.

Off-road and 4x4 clubs can submit proposals for their home trails to receive a grant. Proposals will be judged by a panel of off-road journalists, enthusiasts, and technical experts, who will select four trails based on uniqueness, terrain type, and enthusiast support. Grant money is awarded for the purposes of creating trail signage, trail maintenance and repair, or education.
