Best in the Desert racing organization has brought back the famous Laughlin Leap. The famous jump contest has sat dormant for almost a decade. Held in Laughlin, Nevada, the Laughlin Leap is a contest to see who can jump their race vehicle the farthest. Once put on by another race organization, Best in the Desert has decided to revive the leap contest.
The Laughlin Leap has always been associated with big payouts, and this year is no exception. Fabtech stepped up to the plate with $10,000 in prize monies. “We are very proud to help bring this exciting event back,” said Fabtech CEO Dave Winner. “We are passionate enthusiasts and racers ourselves and since our company is dedicated to building the best suspension systems possible for off-road enthusiasts, what could be a better fit.”
The leap format will be run in a bracket style with jump-offs for the first two rounds. The third and final round will determine the winner by longest distance. Only 32 entries will be taken for the entire contest in a first come, first served basis. Brackets are determined during a random draw process at registration. All classes may participate.
The Laughlin Leap will take place during the Best in the Desert Laughlin Classic on the evening of Saturday, October 13, 2018. Other events taking place in Laughlin include a UTV night race and regular points race for The Best in the Desert Series.
